Tea and Two Castles
You will be collected from a location of your choice aboard one of our executive vehicles where our local driver will transport you out to 13th century Drum Castle, which for centuries it was the seat of the chief of Clan Irvine. Here you can take a guided tour inside the castle and Visit the medieval hall as well as seeing the original charter sealed by Robert the Bruce.
Stroll through one of the finest libraries in any Scottish castle, home to around 4,000 volumes, some dating back to the 1500s. Count the steep steps to the battlements as you climb to the top of Drum's 700-year-old tower, then experience the wonderful views, stretching to the far corners of the estate and beyond. You can also explore the stunning ‘Garden of Historic Roses’.
From here, we will move on to Crathes Castle where you can explore this magnificent 16th-century tower house, with its intricate maze of turrets, towers, oak panels and painted ceilings or wander through the walled garden and admire the massive yew hedges, planted as early as 1702.
Once you have dwelled on these two marvellous sights, we will take you a short drive along North Deeside where you will stop for a spot of lunch or afternoon tea at Banchory Lodge Hotel.
The day will finish with a drop-off at a venue of your choice in Aberdeen City Centre or from your original pick-up location(s).
