North East 250
This route will take you through some of the breath taking scenery available on the very doorstep of Aberdeenshire. On board one of our executive vehicles, you will be driven up the North East Coast, firstly stopping in the small town of Cruden Bay where you can take in the sights of Port Errol which lies next to the gold sandy beach and dunes.
Whilst here, why not have a coffee at the Kilmarnock Arms Hotel, where in 1894 the famous Irish author Bram Stoker holidayed. It is said that Bram Stoker’s inspiration for Dracula’s Castle came from the nearby ‘’Old Slains Castle’, which in turn, takes us to our next stop. From the car park, you will have the opportunity to walk down to the ruins of the Castle for some great photo opportunities.
The next stop on the route is the Royal Burgh of Cullen, which sits on the sandy shores of the Moray Firth. You cannot visit this lovely town without trying the world famous ‘Cullen Skink Soup’ at the Cullen Bay Hotel.
After lunch we will take you back South where we’ll stop at Ballindalloch Castle. Here you can explore the grounds or even have a wee dram in the Ballindalloch Distillery.
Afterwards we will continue South into the Cairngorm National Park where you will see the vast array of hills and mountains which make up part of the Cairngorm range. The route will then take us back East, through Royal Deeside towards Drum Castle, where we will have the last stop of the day. Drum castle was built in the 13th and for centuries, was the seat of the chief of Clan Irvine. Here you can take a guided tour inside the castle and Visit the medieval High Hall as well as seeing the original charter sealed by Robert the Bruce. You can also count the steep steps to the battlements as you climb to the top of Drum's 700-year-old tower, then experience the wonderful views, stretching to the far corners of the estate and beyond. You can also explore the stunning ‘Garden of Historic Roses’.
The day will finish with a drop-off at a venue of your choice in Aberdeen City Centre or from your original pick-up location(s).
