Ballindalloch Castle and Distillery

You will be collected from a location of your choice aboard one of our executive vehicles where our local driver will transport you out to Ballindalloch Castle.

Situated on the banks of the River Avon, a short distance from its junction with the River Spey, the Castle has been the home of the Macpherson-Grant family since it was finished in 1546.

The lands of Ballindalloch and Glencairnie had been granted to John Grant of Freuchie by King James IV in 1498 and constructed at a time when the Highlands were rife with clan feuds and prey to the avarice of monarchs, both English and Scottish, Ballindalloch Castle was once a fortress as well as a family home.

On the tour, you can soak up the beautiful interior that the Castle has to offer as well as enjoying some refreshments in the onsite tearoom.

Afterwards why not take a stroll through the gardens which also offer up stunning views of the surrounding hillsides and the Castle itself. From here you will move on to the Ballindalloch Distillery where you will learn about the fully manual distillery where skill and experience is essential to producing the exceptional new make spirit.

Once the tour concludes, enjoy a few drams in the Long Gallery where you will be treated to some whisky from the Macpherson-Grant family’s private casks.

Once you’ve had your fill of whisky, we will drive you along some very scenic routes which will take you through the Cairngorms as well as Royal Deeside before stopping at Banchory Lodge Hotel for an evening meal.

The day will finish with a drop-off at a venue of your choice in Aberdeen City Centre or from your original pick-up location(s).

Tour duration is Full Day (10-12 Hours).
